From Angela Carnahan, Licking County Job and Family Services

My trip to Chandler AZ was eye opening! It’s hard to understand the scope of the Intel project without seeing one of their facilities firsthand.

We had the opportunity to meet Jim Evers, Vice President, Ohio Site Manufacturing and Operations Manager- who will be moving from the Ocotillo, AZ to launch the Licking County site.  Mr. Evers started his career at Intel 28 years ago as an entry level Assembler and worked his way through the ranks, as did many of the senior staff we met with.  Intel believes that their employees are their greatest asset. They provide opportunity for growth, support education and training and foster teamwork and paying forward.

Diversity and inclusion are a priority, and they are actively working to increase the number of veterans and woman in their workplace.

They strive to be a good neighbor, the Ocotillo site borders a retirement community on one side and an Indian reservation on the other.  They make it a priority to be respectful of their privacy and needs. I came home with a renewed excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead for our families and communities.

Growth is inevitable. We’re not always able to choose our neighbors, but in this case- I don’t think we could have found a better neighbor to help launch our growth.
